This is a quick news post to inform you all that I am testing a new "Report Issue" wizard. It has come to my attention several times that the Mantis bug tracker interface can be very intimidating for some people especially when reporting bugs / features.

I hope to resolve this with the new Report Issue wizard, located at https://compo.sr/report-issue.htm (or Support > Report Issue / Feature).

It is a simple wizard which will ask you concise questions about what you are reporting and will provide additional help through the "?" icons. The wizard will then take what you fill in and create a Mantis bug tracker issue for you and provide you a link to it.

Please leave feedback for me as a comment on this news article. Does it make reporting issues much easier / more intuitive for you? How can I improve it further? Did you encounter any issues or bugs with it?

Your feedback is greatly appreciated. And from now on, I will be guiding users to use this form by default when reporting issues instead of directly on the tracker. The tracker will still be used for following-up after an issue has been created.
