Hello all,
PHP 8 is currently in release candidate stage and makes quite a few compatibility breaks that we will be addressed
Composr will be updated to support PHP 8 in the next patch release.
Or, early testers can try the hot-fix on the following tracker issue: 0004439: Support PHP 8 - Composr CMS feature tracker
From a user point of view, it may make sense to hold off upgrading to PHP 8 until things are well tested by both the PHP and Composr communities. PHP 8 offers many things for developers, but not so much to end users (no relevant performance improvements like the past big PHP releases had), so there's no rush to update live systems.
It will be important to upgrade Composr before upgrading to PHP 8, as many changes were needed and the upgrader for anything up to the current release will fail to run on PHP 8.
We have no plans to update ocPortal (i.e. older versions before we renamed to Composr).
