There has been a lot of spam tracker reports lately. To prevent this, log-in is now required to report issues to the tracker.

Hello everyone,

The amount of spam on our issue tracker has been on the rise lately. I've seen people (as Guest) posting advertisements, and more recently flooding the tracker with exact word-for-word duplicate issues of other issues.

Unfortunately, Mantis does not have any tools to allow us to "investigate" these and find their IP to ban them.

As such, we have no choice but to require log-in from now on to report to the tracker or to add comments.

If you try to report an issue when you are not logged in, you will be prompted to log in.

I appreciate your patience and understanding.

Surprised this wasn't the default before now. I think we've all accidentally posted an issue thinking we're logged in many times already.

It was Chris' request, if I recall, to allow guest posting of issues. But the spam has gotten to be too problematic to allow that now. Anyone can create an account for free. And it helps us better track bad apples.
