Hi,

I purchased a new DOMAIN URL.  In setting the Domain Forwarding for that URL, I am able to set either FORWARD ONLY or FORWARD WITH MASKING.   I wanted to use the masking, so that all the pages in my site would now use the new URL.

For Composr to work with the new URL, would I just have to change the $SITE_INFO['domain']  AND the $SITE_INFO['base_url'] in the _config.php file?  

Would anything else need to be changed for my site to work properly?

Is there a chance that some things will not work when these changes have been made?

You probably are needing to set the DNS settings or nameservers for the domain, "forward only" probably means a redirect, and "forward with masking" probably means proxying which means all traffic gets routed through two servers unnecessarily.

As for Composr, yes, just change those settings in _config.php. Composr goes to pains to avoid including the base URL anywhere. That said, if you have been entering absolute URLs to things, you may need to edit where you did that.

Thank you Chris!  I thought I had found where things needed to be changed, but after reading an old ocPortal post, I thought I should double check.  I knew you always make things easy, localizing the change so that you don't have to change multiple pages.

Yes, I thought I had to set the nameservers too, but now GoDaddy has a form where you fill in your information and the nameservers are set automatically.

Yes:
Forward Only = redirect to main page, all pages have the old base URL.
Forward With Masking = redirect to main page, all pages have the new base URL.

I have Composr in a separate folder from my other projects, so a more specific base URL pointing to that folder is a "plus".

Update for those reading this: 

The form on Godaddy sets the nameservers to Godaddy nameservers.  I set my host's nameservers, and then used the form.  The form reset the nameservers back to Godaddy settings.

I just entered my host's nameservers again, and will redirect using my cpanel.
