I don't think you'll need to worry about it that much. Don't get me wrong, the new EU copyright directive is concerning, but from what I understand the onus is on large content aggregators like Google or Facebook - to implement their copyright filtering, and to not show so much in news snippets that people won't click through. I think the real problem is there will be a chilling effect as the content aggregators have to have heavy-handed blocking of any user content their poorly-constructed automated filters have a problem with.

I think any new theme would need to be compatible with the upcoming versions. Just my two cents, but I think it should be easily viewable on mobile devices. This phone is an iPhone SE, and I literally can not see the letters I’m typing. This new theme is a great idea, and I’d suggest a Facebook kind of look. From there, it could branch off. Single column for small devices, a lot of white space. I’m very tempted to get started on such a theme also. Chris has been amazing in responding to everyone. It’s extraordinarily, really.
