I am trying to perform an upgrade to 10.0.9 and I keep getting the following error:

Filesystem permission error when trying to extract uninstall.php. Maybe you needed to give FTP details when logging in?

Can someone help me out please?  Thanks!

Hi,

It sounds like your server isn't a suExec server. If it doesn't ask for FTP details when you log into the upgrader then you will probably need to manually extract an upgrade. You'll find a link to download a personalised upgrade TAR for your site under "Transfer across new/updated files" which you can then manually extract onto your server (do not use the normal upgrade TAR, extracting that will cause major issues as it will restore files from bundled addons you may have removed).

Chris, is there anyway I can download the custom Tar via Lynx (Linux Shell) ?

Probably, but wget would make more sense.

Find the URL from your normal browser, and paste it into a shell within this command wget <url>

I believe it was originally version 10.0.2

I'll fix it tonight for you if you can email me access details to [email protected]

I know the core issue (sources/global2.php outdated and now incompatible), but I want to make sure I can step through the process I said and it works right.
