Removing items from Sitemap

Is there a way to remove items from appear in the sitemap link on an ad-hoc basis absent using a manually created and edited sitemap? For example, while my site utilizes members, usergroups and catalogs, we don't want the directory listing of them appearing in the sitemap. The sitemap editor in the adminzone doesn't have a means of disabling it from view and advises against moving it to another zone. The add-on editor obviously can't be used to uninstall the items without disabing the feature all together. You can't hide it using CSS since the sitemap branch id assigned to the list items changes each time the page is refreshed. Is there some means of limiting what appears in the sitemap?

Hello,

You can certainly customise it, but it's not done in terms of removing items, it's done in terms of replacing the use of the automatic Sitemap with your own custom menu.

The sitemap page calls an instance of the 'menu' block to show the Sitemap. You can edit the page to point to your own custom menu editor edited menu instead of the automatic Sitemap.

The menu editor allows you to include nodes from the Sitemap into your own menu so that you can do stuff like including whole content trees in there without ongoing manual editing.

Or, you can leave it there and block access using the "Match-key permissions" feature. Block access to the site:members:browse page-link. You can also define a custom error message to show people.
