Entries are not located in zones. You may set up breadcrumbs or redirects such that the navigation makes them APPEAR to, but it's a trick. Entries are rendered by the catalogues module executing in a particular zone, or a block. Generally catalogues would find the catalogues module in the same zone it is currently running in. If it were to link to a zone where the entry is 'supposed' to be, some kind of alteration to the code would need doing, like creating a new fields hook for one specific kind of catalogue entry and generating links out as wanted for those.
