The WYSIWYG editor is being improved a lot for v8, and by default table handling will be for ideal for block layout. Generally block and Comcode editing in there works much more nicely than it has in the past. Also we're moving away from expecting HTML to be a second class citizen to Comcode - the default is now for them to co-exist. People don't care so much about HTML validation, since HTML5 is more about dynamics than formal grammars, so people who don't want to hand-code should be fine with the improved WYSIWYG editor.
