Blogs is just a facade around the news system - individual member blogs, each of which is an automatically created news category.

That said I can see the default menus reference the term blogs when there is none, I can tweak that to be smarter.

Can the page in the screenshot be tweaked in the same way, so it just says News categories when there are no blogs.
