i have uploaded the error i receive when trying to access the permissions tree

You didn't mention what version you're on.

I'd run a few tests:
- See if http://www.southwestgatech.edu/portal/data/site_tree.php results in proper XML output, or an error page (you need to be logged in as admin when you call up)
- See if it is only Internet Explorer affected
- See if anything is in your Composr error log

When i try accessing the site tree i get the fallowing error.

and it happens with all browsers and operating systems.
