I take it back... whether or not there is already a title doesn't matter

Can you give some more detail on exactly where/what is edited. I tried on your site to edit the top title on an image view screen, and it worked.

I couldn't reproduce, and I tested every inline editing field I could find.

I did find an issue for content with posting fields, and fixed that.
