Improved breadcrumbs, and improved menu depth, has made this change unnecessary.

We could make a case for having 'add' links on the 'choose-to-edit' screens, but we could also say it would clutter them, and have a clear consistent navigation and CMS layout is better. I'd say it's a toss-up, it is as it is.
