I noticed that the user does actually get added - not sure if it is some halfway house though ?

I have uploaded the fixed sources/hooks/systems/notifications/cns_member_joined_group.php file for you. This was a problem in the other notification fixes recently deployed.

Notifications are sent after the script finishes main processing - so no partiality/corruption would have occurred.
