Doing an Upgrade

Before doing an upgrade make sure you have an back up of your existing copy of files, everything should go normal without any issues, but it's always advised to keep a back up of your copy.
If you are upgrading your live site, please close the site using a close.html file or by using the closed-site feature in Composr.

Upgrade Process-

1) Transferring files - To start with the updgrade, you can loging to the Adminzone of Composr, and in the “Status” page itself you should find your current Composr version and a link to Launch the upgrader.

2) Clicking on this link will take you to a new page where you will be asked for your Master password and FTP details, this will copy your customised TAR upgrade file between compo.sr and your server, and then extract it.

if your server's connection to the compo.sr server is slow, you could download the TAR file yourself, upload it to your own server, and then instead of providing the FTP details you can leave those fields blank and directly click on Upgrade, which will take you to a new page where you can paste this URL in the step 3 of Upgrade Steps to start upgrading.

3) Once that is done, you can continue with the rest of the steps, that is, Doing an integrity file scan, which means removing any files from previous versions of Composr that are no longer required and removing any files relating to bundled addons that you have previously uninstalled.

4) After that comes the most important step of upgrading the Database, which upgrades all modules and blocks, as well as doing some cross-system updates, and updating Conversr. If any errors happen they'll be displayed and you should note them down and report them.

5) Then do an Automatic theme upgrade using the link and finally clear the caches, which will complete the Upgrade Process

Doing an Upgrade
------------------------------

Before doing an upgrade make sure you have a backup copy of your existing files, everything should go normal without any issues, but it's always advised to keep a backup of your copy.

If you are upgrading your live site, please close the site using a closed.html file or by using the closed-site feature in Composr.

Upgrade Process
--------------------------

- Transferring files - To start with the upgrade, you can logging to the Adminzone of Composr, and in the “Status” page itself you can find your current Composr version and a link to Launch the upgrader.(image_001.png)

- Clicking on this link will take you to a new page where you will be asked for your Master password(image_002.png). Enter your master password and login to the Composr upgrade tool where you can find the step by step process for doing an upgrade. (image_003)

Among these steps, the third step 'Transfer across new/updated files' will copy your customised TAR upgrade file between compo.sr and your server, and then extract it. If your server's connection to the compo.sr server is slow, you could download the TAR file yourself, upload it to your own server, and then use that copy's URL in step 3 of Upgrade steps in Composr upgrad tool.(image_004.png)

- Once that is done, you can continue with the rest of the steps, that is, Doing an integrity file scan, which means removing any files from previous versions of Composr that are no longer required and removing any files relating to bundled addons that you have previously uninstalled.

- After that comes the most important step of upgrading the Database, which upgrades all modules and blocks, as well as doing some cross-system updates, and updating Conversr. If any errors happen they'll be displayed and you should note them down and report them.

- Then do an Automatic theme upgrade using the link and finally clear the caches, which will complete the Upgrade Process
