A potentially easy way to foster community while extending functionality would be via a comcode market/showcase. Not that many of us are PHP whizzes but I would bet we've all got some pretty useful custom comcode kicking around.

A post style example:

Description

Comcode description here

Comcode

Code

{$COMCODE,[box="" width="auto" class="newsStartPage" options="options"],0}
{$COMCODE,[block="365" member_based="0" select="{news}" multiplier="0.1" fallback_full="1" fallback_archive="9" blogs="0" zone="_SEARCH" title="Globalization" show_in_full="0" no_links="0" attach_to_url_filter="0" render_if_empty="1" start="0" pagination="0" as_guest="0" optimise="0"]main_news_highlight[/block],0}{$COMCODE,[/box],0}

CSS

corresponding css would go here if applicable

I'll have to think about how / when to implement such. Currently my focus is heavily v11. So it's possible I'll hold off on doing this until v11 / we migrate to composr.app . There will also have to be some guidelines on the code portion… for example, not to use code which uses specific IDs pointing to custom content or categories (since it would not be relevant to other sites) unless you pass it in as a parameter.

Also have to think about marketing. Is this better just as a forum? A catalogue showcase? Non-bundled addons?
