V10 - member registration

My question then is, how can I know if a new registration has never clicked the activation link? There doesn't seem to be a way to easily distinguish a non-activated account from a activated account. In my previous forum (phpBB) listing the member directory would show the new member but also show the account as not activated making them very easy to spot .
These are the type of accounts I like to delete after 24 hours to help keep possible spammers from activating their account later.

I don't remember about v10, but I know v11 shows in the member list when a member has not yet activated their account (if you are a staff member). Also the "delete lurkers" tool in the Admin Zone (at least for v11) has the option to filter by members who have not yet confirmed their e-mail address. And the nice thing about this tool is that you can set "Minimum days since joining" to 1, and then activate "Non-confirmed only", and when you proceed, it will list all members who did not confirm their e-mail address who registered 1 day or more ago. And from there, you can delete whichever ones you want.
(Also new in v11 to comply with the GDPR, any members you delete will be e-mailed informing them their account was deleted).
To clarify, the "validated" option pertains to the validation addon, which is controlled by staff. E.g. a member who is not validated needs to be approved by (e.g. have validated turned on) a staff member before they can log in. That is why a member who has not confirmed their e-mail address yet will still have validated set to on (if you do not have manual staff approval active for accounts).
Perhaps add a tracker issue for both of these at https://composr.app/report-issue.htm … mark as feature request.
Issue 1) Make it more clear to staff on a member profile when the member has not yet validated their e-mail address.
Issue 2) Make it more clear what "validated" means in the context of a member account.
If you make the issues, then you will get points when/if they are implemented.

Is the sending an email when deleting a member an optional setting?
I'm looking forward to when I can move to v11. I don't dare upgrade anytime soon because my migration last weekend didn't go very well and would go over like a lead balloon with my members. Not anything to do with Composr. Server, registrar, former host, DNS, etc. Just about everything but Composr.

Ok, that makes sense why validated was on.

In a few weeks when I've had time to shift my focus away from the migration, I'll circle back around and give v11 an install and give it a test run on my test server since I see the colors have changed which I think I read somewhere means the newest v11 is about to be released.

Right now, no. I don't intend for it to be optional at this time because as time goes on, more and more regions are implementing laws requiring transparency with users. But if you can think of good reasons to make it optional, feel free to add a tracker issue with your suggestions.

Feel free to ask me if you would like help upgrading; of course I can't do it for free but if you fund me to upgrade your site, the funding will directly support my ability to continue Composr development. I admin my own server (composr.app resides on it) so I can see if I can work out the logistics for you, so I know about all those things LOL.
Or I can even host your site if you like.

I *used* to do that back when I could push a release every 2-4 weeks, but now that releases will be very infrequent given my circumstances, I decided a theme change does not mean a new version anymore. Otherwise, you'll be stuck with the same design for several months LOL. And I like keeping things fresh. You'll know when a new version is out because as soon as you load composr.app, the first slide in the hero slider indicates the current version. The downloads page also tells you.
