V10 IP addresses

Looking at the IP addresses on the "User's online" page (and on other pages as well), there are IP addresses with the last octet is an " * ". Can this "feature" be turned off so the last octet is displayed? That " * " makes it difficult looking up the IP location. Also, is V11 displaying IP addresses the same way?

By default, Composr stores IP addresses with the last octet removed in the sessions table. This is to prevent people on dynamic networks from getting logged out frequently. Interestingly, this doesn't seem to always work. And the full IP address sometimes gets stored. I'll have to look into that as it is a bug.

There is a setting you can stick in your _config.php to enforce full IP addresses on sessions. This makes full IP addresses appear in the list.

Code (PHP)

$SITE_INFO['full_ip_addresses'] = '1';

Note that in V11, if you do not have full IP addresses, then you can still search wildcard IP addresses in the "Investigate user" tool. E.g., 127.0.0.* will not pull up specific information about any IP address. But the "Views" table will list all hits from all IP addresses beginning with that. And you can click a specific IP address from there to get more details.

I've added that to _config.php almost 3 hours ago, but no change. I've restarted Apache. I've restarted php. I've rebooted the server. I've even went so far as to remove sessions in the db hoping to end all sessions and force full IP's, but there are as many asterisks now as there were 3 hours ago. Anything I should have done to make the magic happen?

Thanks, that worked perfectly, and instantly after clearing the db sessions!
