Summary | 2108: Support Growl-style notification API
Description | There are a number of app&API combinations built up around the Growl community. Prowl for iOS: http://www.prowlapp.com/api.php Notify My Android for Android: https://www.notifymyandroid.com/ I don't think from a dev-perspective either of these are in any way "Growl". The Growl and Growl For Windows apps can't receive messages sent to these APIs. So essentially it is just like Composr Mobile API's iOS/Android notifications, except going through a separate API to some generic apps the user downloads. I am sceptical of whether this is a good idea. It's extra implementation, and an extra app to be installed. We already support some notifications via Tapatalk, RSS, Composr Mobile SDK - so this seems excessive. However, I do see some people may be very interested.

Here's a non-growl-community one, but it's not free: https://pushover.net/ |

I think there are easy ways for a user to benefit from this use case that don't require implementing any non-standard protocol. |
