Not sure if this is major or minor issue. But when i reloaded sitemap a few times it took down the server for an hour or so, guessing my host rebooted it.
I could just remove sitemap and not worry about it but wanted to report this. I am guessing it is having multiple new zones?
I don't currently know what could cause this, but I am happy to look into it for you if you want to e-mail FTP (or similar) access to [email protected].
I won't be able to respond for at least a few weeks unfortunately.
It is conceivable something could trip an infinite loop. The Sitemap code is extensive and complex, traversing multiple hierarchical category structures.
I have attached a workaround. Upload sources/sitemap.php then type this into Commandr:
:set_value('disable_sitemap','2');
(Commandr addon must be installed, Admin Zone > Tools > Commandr)
This will simplify the Sitemap down and hopefully therefore remove the issue.
Oh also it shouldn't be able to take a server down normally because there is the 100 second time limit we're imposing, and I can't see any case of that being disabled.
However, if a lot of hits were going to the Sitemap, faster than the server could serve it, I could see that. Or, some hosts may have throttling policies.
