Overview * Don't cut off data mid-month, unless it's less than 31 days / On the "Views per month" screen why are the dates on the 22nd of each month? Have the details at the bottom say 31st January, 28 February (the end of the month), and the graph simply show "January 09", "February 09", etc. * Try making SVG create bold text to see if it looks any better * Axis labels should be gray, bold, bigger, and vertically / horizontally centered * If data is not available for a time period (if we know it is outside our install time / collection range), say "N/A" instead of "0"? * Why is it that I can sort the table by the field name but not by the 'view counts' on the right? (maybe this only happens on page stats) * Each of these stats pages could do with a description at the top? Page view statistics * Consider combining the graph with the table below - since they really have the same info and looking back and forth between them to see view counts gets old. This way we can also see everything represented in a graph, and not just 40 or so that fit in a normal window. If we don't do this, at least change the color selection so that the background is always brighter than the text, and make the text black. * "Export to a CSV" is hidden way at the bottom of the screen. Move it up right under the graph. * Can the numbers on the side be a little more sensible (100, 250, 500, 750, 1000, etc)? Hovering over a bar could reveal it's actual number * Clarify what the red 'average' line is for * And the red text indicating the legend on the bottom and left side should be blue, centered, much larger, and a few more pixels away from the graph. Individual page view stats * These would be best represented by a line chart, since the different colors don't really indicate different 'things', just different times of day. Also why are the hourly rates just for yesterday? It would be better to show a combined average of hourly visits of the course of the month. * "Views per day": it should consistently show day names, currently it is a blend of relative times: Sun/Mon/Tue and 16 January/Yesterday/Today. It also needs to show Sunday (or Monday) first, and Saturday (or Sunday) last, right now it shows today (Friday) as the last entry on the graph * The page-view stats graphs should be rotated, so that all the data can fit cleanly. * Can we have a link somewhere to open up the page? Users online statistics * Again, this chart may be better rotated since the longer titles (dates) are currently vertical and have the graph going through them Submission statistics * (After testing on our own site's data) I'm not quite sure what I'm looking at. Why are there no labels on the graph, and why is the data all from 2006? What kind of submissions are these? Downloads * The default time frame is limited to just today * Add a way to track downloads (even if it's just hits to dload.php ) Search statistics * The default time frame is limited to just today Demographics * The default time frame is limited to just today Posting rates * The default time frame is limited to just today Geo-location data install * Show a progress bar when installing geo-locate data. Also change the descriptive text for this action to indicate that you CAN close down and finish installing later (I believe you can, and we don't want to scare the user). |
