Description get_hook_ob and hook_exists are new functions in v11, but due to various different branches since they were implemented, they may not be used as much as they should be.
Evaluate is_file/file_exists checks on hook directories, and object_factory calls, to see if they can be replaced by these functions. It's cleaner.
