| Description | Perhaps a nonbundled addon. This would extend the warnings system by adding demerits / warning points (whichever you think is the better term).
Each time a staff member warns someone, they can assign warning points / demerits to them. These are on record just like the number of warnings, and should be viewable by the member receiving the warning and the staff. Warning points / demerits are tracked through a special CPF. Staff can configure how many warning points / demerits are taken off automatically, either per day, per daily visit, per x points earned, or per x posts made in the forum. They can also manually remove points / demerits by editing the CPF value on someone's profile. Staff can define automatic actions to take place when members reach certain thresholds of demerits / warning points. The actions are defined in hooks with labels and actualisers. Some actions may include probation, changing of usergroups, permission restrictions, member bans, IP bans, loss of points, etc. and can be extended with more actions via additional hooks by . A warning points system is pretty common on forum software such as MyBB, phpBB, and IPB. |

Presumably staff would draw up some standardised chart to show how many demerits particularly actions warrant? Like swearing is maybe just 1 demerit, but abuse is 3, and willful non-compliance with mods is 5?
Reputation is different as it involves upvotes / downvotes / ratings rather than punishments, though some reputation systems do consider punishments and reduce reputation when someone gets punished. I have an idea for another addon for a reputation system; but my thoughts on it are not concrete enough yet to present it on the tracker.
My thinking also is that as you mentioned, staff would make or follow a guide that dictates how many points / demerits to assign based on the warning and the severity of the warning.
