| Description | Start up a database of "ISP"s who are known to do egregious forms of traffic shaping and stream manipulation - with their IP ranges.
Make that an open database with an API, encourage others to use it. Make a Composr addon that displays a warning to any visitor on one of these ISPs, warning them that they are on a crippled Internet connection and should consider changing ISP. The warnings would be similar to the "you need to upgrade your browser" kind of warnings site's have had in the past. However, it would not be specifically about problems on your own site, but a unified show of strength websites would make to aid and educate ISP customers and promote an unencumbered Internet. |
