| Description | Composr (will) supports integration with TaxCloud for USA sales tax calculation.
It is a free solution, but it does force the remittance of tax for you, it is a third party dependency, and you have to actively use its UI. It would be nice to have a 100%-Composr solution. Avalara provide free rate tables for individual states: http://www.taxrates.com/download-tax-tables/ We could allow uploading the rate table for the state(s) where the store is operating from, and then calculate taxes using this. This is easier said than done, the rate tables don't consider all the different kind of product categories, which TaxCloud will do. This will lead to many ifs/buts for users. I wanted to at least flag it as a possibility for us to support though. |

Another nice Avalara feature is it emails you when you need to update your tax tables, as these things can change as tax periods flip over. Many cities may levy tax changes this way.
