| Description | So this is a really difficult feature to explain. However, throughout time, I've received several complaints about ocPortal's and Composr's catalogue entry screen and profile screens. People say these screens look too business-like and "data-entry" like.
Though for catalogue entries, I feel less sympathy because catalogues are meant to be data-driven, I can have sympathy in terms of profiles. I feel Composr can improve a bit if the profile screens (and any other applicable social screens) looked "social" opposed to "business-like". Take a look at the demonstration screenshot I have of how many [social] content management systems lay out their members' profile pages (my screenshot was modified a bit to try and incorporate a possible look for Composr). In my opinion, this look is clean, modern, and very social-friendly. I think if profiles had a similar look (granted, due to Composr's goals and functionality, it may not be exactly similar), they would be more welcoming and more personable. |

| Additional information | The left panel under the avatar would change to vertical tabs when a user goes to edit their profile.
Perhaps our current "photo" section should be used as "cover photo"; the photo feature as it is is pretty useless at the time, especially when you can upload an avatar instead. I've never seen a CMS with a separate avatar and photo feature, except when said photo feature was for cover photos. This design I provided is probably best for the Bootstrap theme, but I still think our default theme profile screen could use improvement. |
