| Description | I am sure I mentioned this before (somewhere, somehow). Every kind of website system I have ever used gives a standard account to the administrator,
and by standard I mean acts and works in the same way as any other member. This is fine, except it isn't. I don't want to be different to my members (behind the scenes) whilst appearing the same on the frontend. I have noticed that Composr has a kind of system account (the one the sends error PT's). If the admin/staff could actually use this account to post as the website (rather than as a user of the website) I think this would solve a lot of the issues I have had with how these things tend to work on countless other web platforms. In the case of Composr, if I could post comcode pages, forum topics, news, etc and interact as an administrator using the system account (thereby not getting points for doing things other members cannot, or may not be allowed to do) I think this would prove to be a very useful method for separating the two roles all staff have, that of a staff member, and that of a site member. I have removed staff from the point leaderboard for this reason, but surely they should be able to compete like any other member, on an equal footing. If Staff could use the system account from the backend and/or frontend I think this would be another massive thumbs up for Composr. Staff could then get point for things they post which are personal, as opposed to business, making them feel (and be perceived) like any other normal member. Sure, they might be a moderator, but that's not giving them any particular advantages or disadvantages anymore. For those who are happy with the way things are, they wouldn't need to post as the system account, but I really believe that many would for the reasons above and just because the separation makes sense. I see it as being like the facebook feature, where if you own a page you can post as the page name and not as yourself. |

There is actually no 'System account'. These are actually just guest posts given a poster name, and it is only something that happens on the forum.
