This is something I will have to give more thought about. The reason catalogues are not showing up in search is because the fields are being used as an exact match (MATCH * AGAINST *) against what you type rather than a sub-string. For instance, if your title is "This is a test", and you search "test", it will not come up. But, if you search "This is a test", it would. On one hand, I can see why this would be an issue especially for longer text fields. On another hand, if I change the search engine to a sub-string match (* LIKE '%*%'), the search engine could get too liberal and show a bunch of results especially if you type a small string that exists in a lot of places. I will need to consult with Chris on what he thinks is the best approach. |
