Summary | 1707: Potential critical error for admins receiving"Error occurred on website" as private topics
Description | A series of rare conditions can come together to create critical errors for admins. - The "Error occurred on website" (error_occurred) notification type has to be enabled - The notification type has to be sent to private topic - An error has to occur that includes a closing Comcode HTML tag, followed by a full page Tempcode dump This series of conditions can result in a loop and failure. The hotfix will prevent the dangerous notifications being saved in this way, as well as make Composr break the loop cleanly rather than bail out.

Fixed in git commit 5226665 (https://github.com/chrisgraham/Composr/commit/5226665 - link will become active once code pushed) A hotfix (a TAR of files to upload) have been uploaded to this issue. These files are made to the latest intra-version state (i.e. may roll in earlier fixes too if made to the same files) - so only upload files newer than what you have already. Always take backups of files you are replacing or keep a copy of the manual installer for your version, and only apply fixes you need. These hotfixes are not necessarily reliable or well supported. Not sure how to extract TAR files to your Windows computer? Try 7-zip (http://www.7-zip.org/). |
