Composr site logo contest is open (v11)

Introduction

We are looking for logo ideas from the community for when Composr v11 is released!

While the v10 logo is awesome, it does not reflect our vision for Composr going forward into v11. As some of you may know, Composr CMS v10 (and earlier) was sponsored by Chris' former company, ocProducts Ltd. But going forward in v11, Composr will no longer be sponsored by any company or individual. Instead, we will be focused on a Bazaar (community) model. As such, we would like our branding (and logo) to reflect that.

If you have an idea for a Composr v11 logo, we would love to see it! It doesn't have to be a professional render. Even a sketch is fine. We do have some rules for submissions, however. So please read carefully.

Note that is for a logo for the new/updated Composr website when we start using v11, and for all of Composr's social media. It is not for a default generic logo to be included with v11.

Design Rules / Criteria

All submissions must abide by these rules / criteria:

• The logo must represent the Composr community at large: a group of talented individuals collaborating to make an awesome FOSS software and helping each other utilise it.
• The design must be clean and professional. While your submission doesn't have to look perfect, a designer should be able to turn it into something professional.
• The design should not be too distracting / busy, but it should be unique and add identity to Composr.
• The logo must include the word "Composr", and ideally also "CMS", and they must be easily readable / visible.
• The font used should be clean and professional, and the licence for the font used should permit its free use in Free and Open Source Software like Composr.
• Please include the name of the font used, and the hexadecimal codes for the colours used, in your post.
• Please include a "square" version for use in social media unless your logo is already square or circular.
• Absolutely no copyright or trademark infringement allowed.
• We will not permit the use of Artificial Intelligence in any part of the logo-making process.
• All compo.sr site rules apply to submissions. And they must be appropriate for a general audience.

Submission Rules

These are the rules for submission:

• There is no deadline currently. Once we have an idea when v11 beta will be released, a deadline will be established and announced. Submissions will be accepted until the deadline.
• One submission per topic, please. You may make / post as many revisions as you wish to a submission, but do not put separate submissions in the same topic.
• Up to 3 submissions per person. If you wish to retract a submission, please state so in a post in the relevant topic.
• Feedback is encouraged from the community on each submission. Let's help each other improve on our submissions so we can come up with something amazing in the end.
• Those in probation cannot make any submissions until their probation expires.

Selection Process

Once the deadline has passed, submissions will be closed. A professional designer will then be contracted to review each submission and pick the best one which they think will most closely reflect our vision. The submission they select will then be reworked by the designer into professional / final renders.

Rewards

The following rewards will be offered:

• The one whose submission was chosen will receive the following:
  • 1,000 points (points will become a lot more important in the future. When we switch to a Bazaar model, everyone will have voting power based on their number of points.)
  • Credit / recognition
  • Anything else? (Feedback is welcome for additional reward ideas)
• Everyone else who made one or more submissions which meet the submission criteria will get 100 points for participating.
