"Also, the Search results are still being doubled." - presumably you mean the tally. I replied to your issue about that, but basically it's a known issue but not a bug, not something we can realistically fix. That said, I just had a thought and we can make it a bit better. If there's just one page of results, we can make it accurate, so I've just implemented that.

I'm closing this, but I'll add a new feature issue representing what you want, but I'll use different words to make it clearer for developers.

What I added in #2437 is actually is pretty different to what is discussed here. I think the more logical thing in your case is to show the entry title for the result boxes, not the catalogue title or category title.

I don't think it should be the category title in any case because that's in the breadcrumbs within those search result boxes.

All catalogues require at least one category, as an entry is always placed in a category.

You know what makes more sense from a coding point of view, so that sounds good to me and I actually prefer that proposed solution :)
