Should possibly port to v10 as well to make v10->v11 upgrades smoother.

Won't fix. It's way too complicated for not enough benefit to go this route. Plus I'm managing to get the upgrader working without needing to do this.

Yeah, it's not realistic and not needed. There's a lot that installation code in particular might want to do, and would be restrictive if we limit it.

Architecturally minikernel is very messy. I would love to clean that up and not even need it, i.e. move in the opposite direction.
