Less complexity but more frustration for the user experience in my opinion. Not everyone would want to have to create an account just to communicate about a support issue. In fact, that may scare people away, leaving website staff (of websites that do not generally require account sign-up) without email integration the issue of guests not reporting site problems because of being forced to sign up.
Ok, I agree actually, because I can see how it ties in with the email integration -- which may have to be from a guest if the email integration is used and we can't get a bind.
