The issue I think is that it uses the prefix "keep_". When that prefix is used, the parameter is included in all subsequent URLs in Composr until removed either via. software or via. manually.
Right, this is just how it works. Only admins get those links to choose a virtual root. If you are going to place virtual roots into menus then you need to make sure other menu links explicitly set different roots, if you want multiple roots.
