Just to reduce noise in the logs. Maybe it would be okay now that we have a better UI than when this was originally designed.

Hmm you have a point about noise, especially if it's a very active website. I arbitrarily coded in a couple log_it's into my site and realized it will also log private topics (might be okay / useful though), as well as "posts" because of IM conversation archiving (now that can definitely flood the logs).

I've implemented this under some hidden options, for the chatroom too.
