I am buying out a couple of existing forums, they are run down and pretty much dead, but fairly large. Anyway the point is i personally think its bad practice to change forum software off the bat.

The few regulars that do post want change, but as normal they want change but not too much. So the idea is to wean them off slowly. I will probally dual login BB3 and composr, i doubt i will try and wrap the forum. If i was keeping it then maybe i would, but in this case i will probally add pages to composr, get them used to finding articles and info on it. Then switch it out for one with a composr forum.

It wont be dual login, but i wont lock it down anyway. Then once they are used to it i will import the phpbb3 stuff into the composr forum. The other forum i might have another go at wrapping it up in Composr, my gut feeling being its quicker to switch users over if composr is always in view.
Then ione day they log in and the forum is composr and not BB3, all the posts will obviously be there.

I dont like BB3 much, but established half dead forums run on it, are pretty cheap to buy, alot cheaper than VB forums for sure. And buying dead forums has some advantages :D.
