Ugly login box in the header doesn't go away if site language is not English

I removed it, but it comes back when I switch site language from EN to BG

This ugly login box won't go away if I set site language to BG. If I set it to EN the box goes away, but if I set it to BG, the language I want to use on the site, the box comes back.

I removed the top_login block from the BLOCKS menu. It shouldn't be showing, but it is.

I am a total noob to Composr, I have no idea what might be wrong.

The menu links are causing the login box to display like that, which I am sure you realised. It is shown by default to Guests, but removing the block should probably have worked (not sure on this as it's hardcoded into the template). What you can do instead is edit GLOBAL_HTML_WRAP.tpl which is in the themes/default/templates/ directory,
Find and remove the following code:-

       <div class="top_form">

       </div>

Ideally create a copy of GLOBAL_HTML_WRAP.tpl in the templates_custom/ directory and then make this change on that custom file, which allows the original file to stay intact (good practice).

I will try your advice, but why does removing it through the control panel work when the site language is set to EN, and doesn't work when site language is set to BG? I would really like to fix this bug.

The menu links are causing the login box to display like that, which I am sure you realised.
This is NOT going to be a community site, so there is no need for members to register and login.

If it's a bug it will be fixed before the next release candidate, but perhaps you didn't empy the block and template caches (Admin Zone > Tools > Website cleanup tools). If it's not a cache issue, then removing that code will do the trick for now and should achieve the result you want.

Thanks. It worked.

He's probably right, caching. Even with smart decaching for templates, if block caching is on then it'll stick. Caching is per-language, hence why it might change on one but not another.

Regardless of all this, I think definitely if the "No forums or members" forum driver is picked at installation it shouldn't show this stuff. I'll fix that. (I don't know if you picked that or not, and we don't really support that driver fully, but I'm just saying in principle :) ).

I tried with the "No forum driver" but I got tons of various errors so I reinstalled the site with Converser enabled and just removed the links to the forums.

Hi,

I've just done some testing with this, and I didn't find any errors, but I did find a lot of messiness, mostly on the menus. The next RC will fix these issues.

If there are any other issues you're saying please do report them, and we'll get them fixed.
