Hopefully a very simple question
. I have installed the Simplified E-mails non bundled add-in but how do you get it to send emails without style formatting ( ie just in plain text)
I can see the mail.tpl and also mail.txt have been installed under default template, but i can't see how to make it use mail.txt . It's not sending the logo anymore but still html format.

It would be a major thing to change, as e-mails are written in Comcode which is optimised for HTML display. We do strip it down for plain text, but it's not optimised so all the e-mails would need reviewing for layout quality.

If so what would be the implications if the mail.tpl file was empty. As this seems to contain the html part would just the 'plain text' from the mail.txt me sent or would this result in an illegible email.
The specific problem is that we use multiple themes which members are allowed to pick their own theme and the zone respects the members preference and therefore the comcode from cns forums is formatted using the members selected theme colours which is causing readability issues because of the specific sight problems our group suffer with.

Hi chris, ok understood so are the 2 files (mail.tpl and mail.txt ) used together to form the dual format html/plain text email ?

Blanking out the template would likely result in a blank e-mail, I doubt any e-mail clients are 'smart' enough to switch out a blank HTML version with the plain text version.
What you are describing sounds like a bug. Could you forward me one of the worst e-mails to [email protected], and another e-mail where you send the full MIME source (with headers etc) of the email to me (i.e. view that in your email client, and paste all that raw stuff into a new email to me).
