Description These terms originate from maths, and are common in database parlance.

However a user may not understand them, especially because you ascend a mountain from bottom to top (i.e. it looks like reverse order).

Use terms like "Alphabetical order" and "Reverse-alphabetical order".

The problem with this is we need to have a whole set of terms, depending on each data type.
