| Description | Currently, Composr has warnings when someone goes on a screen that someone else is editing. However, this still does not prevent "edit conflicts", eg. one person is editing while another person saves, thus when the second person saves, the edits from the first person are lost.
To remedy this, have edit locking. When someone else is editing content, present them an option to lock it until the changes are saved. This prevents others from being able to edit the same thing at the same time. The caveat to this feature is someone can lock something and then leave it, resulting in the content remaining locked. Perhaps locking has an expiration, eg. after a certain amount of time, it will auto unlock. Or, maybe it will detect if the editing user leaves the page without saving (via. a recurring AJAX PHP call?). And if they left, it will auto unlock. |

However, I'll leave this here for discussion. Perhaps there is some use case where people won't/can't/don't communicate when they see the warning and a hard lock is needed.
...then again now that I think about it, even with edit locking, other users can wait until the edit is done and then go in and troll edit. So that's not fool proof.
