This is a problem on your web host, they have probably not configured MySQL correctly (or the connection between MySQL and PHP), so that "filesystem socket connections" are not working. Web hosts commonly muck this up if they e.g. have installed MySQL multiple times.
Either that or something is wrong in some kind of config. But definitely not a bug, get on to your web host about it.
