Description	Okay, here is a weird one, rating a catalogue entry as test (SU) triggers a notification beep (sometimes several). No notification, might be cos they are off by default on RC7 (as per your reply on the other tracker issue).

The ocPortal website used to beep at me for no reason whatsoever too :)

I think this is likely the site-wide IM option, if you've turned this on. Clicking a rating may trigger a 'become active' event, which may trigger "has come online" message and sound.

We'll disable the sound for that event, I agree it is annoying.

Ok in which case you probably just had multiple tabs/windows/browsers open, and one of them got a notification.

I think actually the beeping is excessive/annoying, so I'm switching the default to off and adding a tracker issue to make the default configurable.

Excellent. I don't like notification sounds much, on anything. I'll look when I'm ready :)
