Description The following is thrown when trying to start a new IM conversation via. the chat lobby page (clicking "start a new conversation" button):

Steps to reproduce

1. Go to the chat lobby page.

2. Choose someone to begin an IM conversation with.

3. Click "Start a New Conversation"

4. The Javascript error in description is thrown.
