| Description | Modern browsers have no provision for JavaScript to trigger a paste operation. This means the only ways to paste are via the context menu / browser menu / keypress. This isn't user-friendly to some users.
This issue is therefore a holding issue for us to make contributions to webkit/blink/mozilla to implement a browser security permission model for this functionality: https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11335 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1012662 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1013165 This is not likely to happen, but if there is enough support perhaps we could pass on a bug bounty to core developers. At any rate, it is something worth tracking. |
