Hello everyone,
The three measures for voting are now closed. I will briefly go over the results in this article and explain what happens next. Thank you for voting on these measures.
Remember, polls are weighted based on your voting power (calculated from your rank points). So the higher your voting power, the more influence your vote had. Active contributions in the community earn you points. These result in more voting power.
Constitution
The measure for ratifying the initial Composr Constitution has PASSED (79% yay, 21% nay).
What happens next?
- The Constitution is now in effect
- Amendment I (the Transition Clause) is appealed
- A Board of Members has been formed:
- Patrick Schmalstig - Core Developer; Administrator
- Christopher Graham - Core Developer; Moderator
- Adam Edington - Moderator
Several suggestions were made on the topic for revising the Constitution. I am planning to launch a vote in the future for revisions to the Constitution. This will likely occur towards the start of the year 2026. Please submit your suggestions by the end of October.
GitLab Changes
The measure, "Prioritise v11 branch on GitLab and GitHub," has PASSED (100% yay, 0% nay).
What happens next?
- The current "master" branch will be renamed to "v10"
- The "v11" branch will become the primary branch
- Release branches will follow the format "v(version)"
- All other branches will follow the format "(feature|bug)_(keywords)_v(target version)"
This change will not happen immediately. It will require changes on GitLab and in the software. They will likely occur for version 11 beta9.
Blocking AI on Composr.app
The measure, "Block AI bots," FAILED (21% yay, 79% nay).
What happens next?
Nothing; AI bots will be allowed to crawl this site.
